After a year of Record Growth, the Commercial Receivers Association Closes out 2023 with the Appointment of Frank R. Simon as the new State Director of Michigan

(ST. LOUIS, MO) December 12, 2023 – After a year of record growth, the Commercial Receivers Association (CRA) closes out 2023 with the selection of Frank R. Simon (“Simon”) as its new State Director for Michigan. The CRA is a national membership organization focused on empowering the education and standardization of Commercial Receivership Administration. CRA is proud to continue the year’s strong momentum with the appointment of Simon as State Director.

As a court appointed receiver, Simon has extensive experience managing and operating ongoing business concerns of Receivership (i.e.:  cannabis facilities, apartment buildings, hotels, gas stations, grocery stores, storage centers, commercial & industrial buildings, restaurants, shopping centers, bowling alleys, golf courses and various other types of facilities). Simon recently participated as a panelist in a CRA webinar – Cannabis Financials in Receiverships and was a speaker at the Michigan State Bar Real Property Law Section Annual Conference.

Simon PLC consists of over two dozen attorneys and professionals who subscribe to Simon’s core principles that all clients demand and deserve aggressive representation and excellent results.

“As an articulate and persuasive litigator with extensive experience in the legal system as a litigator, assignee, receiver and counsel for receivers in business, civil, family and criminal cases, we knew he was the perfect fit for the Michigan State Director role,” said Eric Peterson, Of Counsel at Spencer Fane and President of the CRA. “Frank excels in obtaining resolution for complex scenarios involving real property, personal property, and finances.  In addition, his special capabilities in management, finance, banking, insolvency, and real estate are sure to be an asset to the CRA.”

Through education, professional networking, promotion of members and where appropriate, legislative action, the CRA continues to be a member-driven organization that promotes, improves, and maximizes the value of state court receivership. The CRA is proud to offer a community where professionals can benefit from the experiences of one another, can network and can steer the development of receivership practice in states across the country to maximize the value of this very necessary legal tool.

“Recognition from one’s own peers and colleagues is both humbling and inspiring,” said Simon. “Over two decades have passed since my first court appointment as a Receiver. In each instance I have set high standards in the execution of my duties, assembly of the right team, and an absolute neutrality in the best interests of the estate. Results, expedient dispositions, and additional opportunities to serve the court have always ensued. To receive an opportunity to serve as State Director is a true honor and distinction. I can’t wait to get to work advancing our industry!”
