Robert Eggmann

Robert E. Eggmann is Principal at Carmody MacDonald and concentrates his practice in the areas of Chapter 7 & 11 bankruptcy, business reorganization, receiverships, business and individual loan workouts, debtor/creditor rights, and appellate bankruptcy advocacy. For more than 30 years, he has advocated for both debtors and creditors in complex bankruptcy and commercial litigation in the Seventh and Eighth Circuits, as well as on behalf of creditors’ committees in numerous chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. Rob has successfully handled issues involving stay relief, defense of fraud actions, and preference litigation, and has experience as counsel for Chapter 12 family farm debtors as well. Moreover, Rob currently serves as a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the Southern District of Illinois and in January 2020 was appointed as a Subchapter V Chapter 11 Trustee for the Central District of Illinois in small business debtor reorganization cases.

Over the years, Rob has represented various banking institutions in complex lending transactions as well as trial counsel on general commercial litigation matters. The diversity of his practice enables Rob to successfully handle a wide array of bankruptcy and restructuring matters throughout the greater St. Louis region and in Southern and Central Illinois.

Rob is admitted to practice in both Missouri and Illinois and is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy law issues.
